Day 3: This is a research study
I awoke today at 6am “Monday” and had the worst headache. I’m not too surprised as this project, preparations for Tavel, work, family, all of it has me stressed and feeling overwhelmed. This everyday creativity is the funnest part of the day for sure and also adds up…this is research and everything I do makes an impact in some way…this headache feels like my body telling me I’m trying to do too much. Whether that’s true or not, there is a reality that must be considered.
How do I take actions to recognize the “too” much….?
1. Ask for help?
2. Take stock of what I’m doing and know I can’t do it all.
3. Time manage and block out time for the most important and high priority items.
I didn’t get any solid hits for my fun incubation question. Yesterday’s question was how to cultivate a fun and enjoyable work place for employees ‘on-the-job’. One thing for sure, engaging with the people, the workers, and connecting with them is what makes work fun for me and hopefully for them? What’s their favorite part of the job? There is a creative cognitive process coined by a creative researcher known as Wallas. Back in the early part of the 1900’s he studied the process by which we come to an insight or as Archimedes would put it, “eureka'“. I came up with this great idea that instead of a suggestion box, we use a Wallas Box. In this box anyone can put any cool ideas that they come up with. This Wallas Box - giving the employees ways to communicate cool creativity also creates a climate of openness and inviting everyone to get their ideas into the game.
Creative Affirmation:
I take on more than I generally can handle because I’m a ‘yes’ to people. I care about a lot of people. This though is where I get out of balance. I love people and being in service to them. What does being in service to myself and family look like? Put me first and see what happens.
Mindfulness Practice:
Letting go of what isn’t serving me. Looking for tension in the body and sending breath to it.
Idea Quote:
Pick it up / drop it off storage.
Pick it up and we will mail to for you.
Combined app; read out loud and visual read-out-loud app.
Read out loud all emails from phone app for when driving. Wouldn’t it be nice if our phones just told us what was happening, without needing to look at it. Like Tony Stark’s computer?
Take dictation - that translates to do list, action items, emails, etc. Like Tony Starks Computer.
List all of my books - tell me what I missing or would like (algorithm)…
Companies bid for opportunities to be a part of learning (example - capstone).
Make education amazing, elite, special
People want it…rather than expect it.
Make flying free.
Make farming free.
All travel free.
Segregate learning by personality type.
Incubation Question:
How can we make teachers valued as much as entertainers?
